Upcoming runners 17 and 18 February 2018

Saturday 17 February 2018

Mr Hopkins
Race 2: Open Maiden - 1600m

Horse no: 2
Time: 2.20 PM
Jockey: B VORSTER (58 kg)

Mastercraftsman (IRE) x Ruby Rouge (NZ) 4yo gelding. He's trialed well last week and is in good condition. He's drawn well in barrier 6 and shouldn't be too far from the pace. The blinkers go back on and the step up in distance to 1600m should suit him and we're hopeful of a good finish.

Race 6: Class 4 Premier - 1200m

Horse no: 9
Time: 3.20 PM
Jockey: V DURIC (55.5 kg)

Exceed and Excel (AUS) x Charmview (AUS) 5yo gelding. He's been working well on the training track and had a good first run back last month. He's drawn nicely in barrier 3 and should get run of the race from there and hopefully finish off nicely.

Race 7: Class 3 - 1200m

Horse no: 6
Time: 3.50 PM
Jockey: D MOOR (53 kg)

Sebring (AUS) x Sayahailmary (AUS) 4yo gelding. He ran well first up over 1100m a few weeks back and the step up in distance this race will suit him. He's drawn a bit of an awkward barrier, but it's a small field and Daniel Moor takes over from the apprentice jockey so he should put in a good run.

Sunday 18 February 2018

Race 1: Class 4 Non Premier - 1000m
Horse no: 4
Time: 1.10 PM
Jockey: V DURIC (58.5 kg)

Exceed and Excel (AUS) x Much Faster (IRE) 4yo horse. He was a bit disappointing in his last start, but has trialed well with blinkers on since then. He's drawn poorly in barrier 11 and will need a bit of luck, but if he gets a chance he could hopefully put in a good run.

Race 7: Novice - 1200m
Horse no: 1
Time: 4.20 PM
Jockey: V DURIC (58 kg)

Falkirk (NZ) x Sandra (NZ) 4yo gelding. He's trialed well last week and has been working nicely since his impressive debut. It's a much stronger race this time around, but he has ability and should match up. Unfortunately he's  drawn awkwardly in barrier 7, but it should not be too much of an issue as he'll be ridden quietly and hopefully he'll finish off well.
