Upcoming runners 02 and 04 February 2018

Friday 02 February 2018

ARC TRIUMPH
Race 2: Restricted Maiden - 1000m

Horse no: 1
Time: 7.20 PM
Jockey: APP R ZAWARI (-2 kg) (57 kg)

Showcasing (GB) x Wind of Savannah (NZ) 3yo gelding. He's in good condition going into his first run of the year. He's drawn nicely in barrier 1 and Apprentice R Zawari takes off 2 kg. If he begins well and holds a spot just behind the leader hopefully he'll finish off strongly. 1000m might be a bit too sharp and we're looking at going up in trip later in his preparation.

INTROIT
Race 4: Maiden - 1600m

Horse no: 1
Time: 8.20 PM
Jockey: V DURIC (59 kg)

Oratorio (IRE) x Bunda Grande (AUS) 4yo gelding. Happy with his condition going into tonight's race - he's been working nicely and has maintained his form. From barrier 7 if he begins well he can sit behind the leaders and run his race from there, and hopefully finish off the race well.

Sunday 04 February 2018

ARC RAIDER
Race 2: Restricted Maiden - 1200m
Horse no: 5
Time: 1.15 PM
Jockey: C GRYLLS (57 kg)

Savabeel (AUS) x Tawny Run (NZ) 3yo gelding. He's well prepared for first start and has done three nice barrier trials. Unfortunately he's drawn awkwardly in barrier 8 and there looks to be good speed in the race. If he can begin well and put himself up in the first 4 or 5, Craig can ride the race from there. He'll improve with the experience and hopefully will get up over more ground in future.

OTTAWA
Race 4: Novice - 1400m
Horse no: 2
Time: 1.45 PM
Jockey: M RODD (58.5 kg)

Foxwedge (AUS) x Marie Soleil (USA) 4yo gelding. He's shown no ill effects after being brought down out of the barriers couple of weeks ago and has been working nicely during the week. He's drawn barrier 8, which is not ideal, but Michael Rodd knows him well and he usually gets back in the race. Hopefully he will run a nice race and finish off well.

BUENOS AIRES
Race 8: Class 3 - 1100m
Horse no: 10
Time: 4.25 PM
Jockey: APP CC WONG (-1 kg) (51.5 kg)

Sebring (AUS) x Sayahailmary (AUS) 4yo gelding. He's been gelded since his last run and has come back well from a little break. He gets a nice light weight and Apprentice CC Wong takes off another kilo. The 1100m is probably too sharp for him but hopefully he will finish off strongly. It looks a nice race for his first run back this preparation.
