KING OF WAR
Race 4: Maiden - 1000m
Horse no: 3
Time: 8.20 PM
Jockey: C GRYLLS (57kg)
Exceed and Excel (AUS) x Charmview (AUS) 3yo gelding. He's come through last start run well. Craig Grylls (jockey) said he was fresh and well and moving nicely. He's drawn wide in barrier13 which could make things a little tricky, but if we're positive out the gates and manage to slide across he can get just in behind with some cover. With some clear room in the home straight hopefully he'll finish off well. The step back to 1000m should suit him.
Race 6: Open Benchmark 97 - 1000m
Horse no: 2
Time: 9.20 PM
Jockey: M RODD (59kg)
Starcraft (NZ) x Firesong (NZ) 6yo gelding. He's fresh and well and has come through last week's trial nicely. He gets in with a high weight of 59kg which he seems to carry well. He's drawn a nice inside barrier in barrier 2 and with Michael Rodd on board who knows him really well, hopefully he'll be right in the finish.
Sunday 30 July 2017
Race 6: Kranji Stakes A - 1400m
Horse no: 7
Time: 3.55 PM
Jockey: G BOSS (52.5kg)
Fastnet Rock (AUS) x Earthen Cool (AUS) 5yo gelding. He's maintaining his form well and has worked well during the week. He's drawn a nice inside barrier in barrier 3 which should make things slightly easier for him. If he begins well and races wherever he's comfortable travelling, as he normally does, he should run another strong race.
Race 8: Juvenile Championship Group 3 - 1400m
Horse no: 2
Time: 5.00 PM
Jockey: V DURIC (56kg)
Showcasing (GB) x Zafonique (NZ) 2yo gelding. Really happy with his condition going into his race this Sunday, he looks great and has been working well with the blinkers on. Vlad was really happy with how he feels. He's drawn an inside barrier and if we can get in just behind the leaders with some cover and into some clear galloping room on the home straight we should see a much better performance from him.
Race 9: Kranji Stakes C - 1600m
Horse no: 5
Time: 5.35 PM
Jockey: C GRYLLS (56.5kg)
Naaqoos (GB) x Laqataat (IRE) 5yo gelding. He's come through his barrier trial last week well and is in good condition. He's drawn barrier 1 which should give us a chance to ride him wherever he's happy travelling. On paper, there doesn't look to be too much speed in the race, and with a bit of luck Craig can get him into some clear room on the home straight to finish off strongly.
Race 10: Open Benchmark 67 - 1000m
Horse no: 5
Time: 6.05 PM
Jockey: O PLACAIS (55.5kg)
Jeremy (USA) x Indus Ridge (IRE) 5yo gelding. He's in good condition going into his first-up run this preparation and has drawn a nice inside barrier in barrier 3. Over the 1000m we'll let him travel wherever he's comfortable travelling and if he gets into some clear galloping room he should be right in the finish.
