Upcoming runners: Friday 10 March and Sunday 12 March

Friday 10 March 2017

Race 3: Class 4 - 1200m

Horse no: 5
Time: 7.20 PM
Jockey:M NUNES (53.5kg)

Darci Brahma (NZ) x Lacango (AUS) 6yo gelding. James is happy with his condition; he did some nice easy work on Tuesday morning just to keep him ticking over - he's fit and we like him going into races fresh. He's drawn wide in barrier 11 but that doesn't worry James too much - we hope to get Manoel Nunes to ride quietly from the gate and get him where he's happy travelling. He seems to be better getting to the outside where he can have some clear galloping room and hopefully finish off strongly.

Sunday 12 March 2017

Race 3: Novice - 1400m
Horse no: 6
Time: 1.40 PM
Jockey: V DURIC (55kg)

Darci Brahma (NZ) x Savamour (NZ) 3yo gelding. James is really happy with him going into the race on Sunday - he looks terrific and is in good form with himself. Vlad has been riding him and is happy with the way he's moving. He's drawn a tricky barrier in barrier 8, and we'll have to have a closer look at the speed map to work out where to sit.  However, Vlad is an experienced rider and we're more than happy to leave it to Vlad to trust his judgement. It's a much stronger race than his previous win with several horses in good form. James has confidence in his ability and has a lot of time for this horse.

Race 4: Iniation - 1400m
Horse no: 1
Time: 2.10 PM
Jockey:O PLACAIS (58kg)

Per Incanto (USA) x Seebright (NZ) 4yo gelding. He's in good condition going into the race. He worked nicely on Wednesday morning to keep him ticking over; and we've drawn a nice barrier in barrier 2. The key with The Goat is to get him to switch off and relax and hopefully from barrier 2 we can get him into a nice position just behind the main speed. The race on paper shows horses with decent form but we've finally managed to get him up over more ground and he looks a decent chance for a strong finish on Sunday.
