Upcoming runners 31 March and 02 April

Friday 24 March 2017

Race 3: Open Benchmark 83 - 1200m

Horse no: 4
Time: 7.20 PM
Jockey: G BOSS (58kg)

Fastnet Rock (AUS) x Defiant Dame (AUS) 4yo gelding. He's done well this week - he's pulled up well since last week's win. He's nice and bright around the training track and is fresh and well so we'll give it a go and race again on Friday. He jumps from barrier 7 of 8 and the race on paper looks to have an on-speed hose in Constant Justice. If he starts well he could either come across or slot in behind and Glen can ride from  his race from there. There are a couple of strong horses in the race but Grand Cross should put up another good show.

Sunday 26 March 2017

Race 1: Class 5 - 1200m
Horse no: 4
Time: 12.50 PM
Jockey: G BOSS (57kg)

Came Home (USA) x Eta Carinae (JPN) 7yo gelding. Happy with his condition, he looks well and has been working nicely. He's drawn a nice barrier in 6, which gives us plenty of options. There are a few horses that could go forward and he needs to begin well and get his own rhythm. James doesn't want to hold Glen down to too many instructions, wherever he's happy travelling should suit. There are  several horses in decent form in the race, but he has been racing well recently and should be a strong chance.

Race 2: Open Maiden - 1100m
Horse no: 5
Time: 1.20 PM
Jockey: V DURIC (55.5kg)

I am Invincible (AUS) x Rivers Secret (AUS) 3yo colt. James is very much looking forward to getting him to the races. He looks to be in good condition and works well on the training track. He's drawn a nice barrier in 4 and the race on paper has decent speed - there are a few horses in it who like to be on pace. We'll get Vlad to ride where he's comfortable - somewhere behind main speed will be fine if we begin nicely. The 1100m may be a bit sharp and might be better once he gets over more ground but it's a nice race to start him off on.
