ROYAL EASTER
Race 9: Class 4 - 1400m

Horse no: 1
Time: 10.20 PM
Jockey: APP Y SALIM -3kg (57kg)

Thorn Park (AUS) x Livoniat (AUS) 4yo gelding. James is happy with his condition - he's nice and bright and moving well and in great condition. He's been worked lightly this week as he goes into his races better fresh. Apprentice Y Salim will ride again and we've drawn barrier 11 which should not be too much of an issue as we'll ride him quietly and get back to a nice position where he's relaxed. The race this time might be a little tougher for him as it looks to be a stronger race on paper with a couple of horses in decent form at the moment, however we're hopeful if he runs up to his last start win he'll finish off the race strongly.

Sunday 05 March 2017

DREAMWEAVER
Race 3: Class 4 - 1000m
Horse no: 1
Time: 1.50 PM
Jockey: M RODD (57kg)

Jeremy (USA) x Indus Ridge (IRE) 5yo gelding. He's having his first run back after a break. James is happy with his recent trial and he seems in good form. 1000m is likely to be a little short of idea but we hope to see him finishing off strongly. We're looking forward to getting him up over more ground later in his preparation.

GRAND CROSS
Race 7: Class 3 - 1200m
Horse no: 2
Time: 3.55 PM
Jockey: V DURIC (56.5kg)

Fastnet Rock (AUS) x Defiant Dame (AUS) 4yo gelding. He's come through his first-up run well and is looking nice and bright around the stable. We've drawn a better barrier this time in barrier 3, which should make it easier for him to get into a good position without having to do too much work. The race on paper looks to be a strong, competitive field but he's improved fitness-wise and we hope he'll manage to finish off strongly.

WIMBLEDON
Race 9: Merlion Trophy (Group 2) - 1200m
Horse no: 1
Time: 5.00 PM
Jockey: V DURIC (57.5kg)

Snitzel (AUS) x Ditas (NZ) 5yo horse. James is really happy with him, he's in good form and really nice condition. He's worked very nicely on the turf track last Saturday, and we don't think switching to the polytrack will be a disadvantage as he has performed well on it before. The biggest negative is probably the bad barrier - he's drawn barrier 13 - which could make it tricky to get into a nice position. We'll get Vlad to ride positively and hopefully get him into a good position without having to do too much work early. He deserves to pick up a big race win!
