Friday 13 January 2017

SIAM GEMSTONE
Race 2: Restricted Maiden (2 and 3YO) - 1200m
Horse no: 11
Time: 6.50 PM
Jockey: V DURIC (57kg)

Darci Brahma (NZ) x Savamour (NZ) 3yo gelding. Happy with his condition, he seems in good form at the moment. Trialled well just before Christmas and he's been working well on the training track. From barrier 7 it would be good if Vlad could be positive and get him into a forward position and try get into the first four or five. We're hopeful of a good run from him but James does think he will be better once we get him to 1400m or 1600m in the future.

SKYWALK
Race 8: Open Benchmark 74 - 1200m
Horse no: 5
Time: 9.50 PM
Jockey: APP CC WONG (54kg)

Battle Paint (USA) x Daystar (NZ) 3yo gelding. He's in good form and is fresh and well. Apprentice CC Wong takes off a kilo which should help a bit. He jumps from barrier 5 which is a nice barrier for us. On paper there is plenty of speed in the race and we plan to ride him just off the main speed and hit the line well.

Sunday 15 January 2017

THE GOLDEN GOAT
Race 6: Obayashi Sprint 2017 Initiation - 1200m
Horse no: 5
Time: 3.55 PM
Jockey: O PLACAIS (57.5kg)

Per Incanto (USA) x Seebright (NZ) 4yo gelding. He's getting stronger every week and works well during training. He's bright and fresh around the stable. From barrier 8 we'll try to get Oliver to ride him patiently, get him back with some cover and hopefully he relaxes through the race and finishes well.

NOBLE LIAISON
Race 10: Class 4 - 1100m
Horse no: 1
Time: 6.00 PM
Jockey: D BEASLEY (58kg)

Darci Brahma (NZ) x Party Royal (NZ) 4yo gelding. James couldn't be happier with this horse as he goes into his first run - he's in good form, working nicely on the training track and looks terrific with lots of natural ability. The 1100m is a bit short for him and we're looking to bring him up to a mile for the future. From barrier 11 we'll let him find his feet wherever he's happy traveling and James is looking forward to him finishing off well.
